Sweet Sweet Summer

This is what I imagine I would be wearing today if I still lived in Minneapolis. I mean, I am wearing it today and I'm not in Minneapolis, but.. you get what I mean. A part of me knows that I'm going to terribly miss those long 90 degree summer days spent sailing on Lake Calhoun and barbecuing on the porch, when you can't bear to wear anything besides a breezy maxi. I just keep reminding that part of me that "you will never again have to tromp (did I just make up a word?) through snow to get to work!." I'd say I'm out on top.
With that said, the colors of this outfit just make me want to take a bite out of a big juicy watermelon! Mmm. You can't see it because of the poor positioning with the sun, but I'm wearing this orange lipstick that reminds me of fruit and sun and everything that is summery and awesome.
Happy Memorial weekend! I'm spending mine showing my mommy around my new city. Doesn't get better than that!

Lemon Drop

Jacket: Zara; Top: French Connection (old sample); Elephant: Forever21; Sunglasses: H&M; Cast: Dr. Kemp

Mick and I went out after work last night for our "last dinner" before mom comes to visit. We're on a mission to try out every sushi place in the 1 mile radius and decide on our favorite. In a regular city, this would not be any size of feat. In San Francisco, we have our work cut out. Tonight we tried out Sushi Hunter for happy hour. The rolls were very good and very cheap while the "Top 40 Club Mix" they had playing kept us... awake. Interesting choice, Sushi Hunter. Interesting choice.
I'm getting so excited to see my mommy and show her around my new city! We have 5 days packed full of activity, I hope you're ready, mom :)

Sherbet & Studs

These are a few of my favorite things... Seriously, though, these are probably my most worn items of clothing, all in one outfit. My mint green shirt gets thrown on as I walk into my apartment almost every night, these studded booties are my go-to lazy, but don't want to look it, shoe, and this jean jacket from H&M is quickly becoming a favorite for obvious reasons. Oh yeah, and my cast. I've been wearing that sexy piece of... whatever it's made out of... for 5 1/2 weeks straight!! I think that's a record.

By the way, I know you love that garbage can.

Bad Landing

Mick bought a toy helicopter... And then he did this. He's so cute sometimes.

Cat Lady

Blouse: Zara; Jeans: Target; Elephant Necklace: Forever21

As soon as the thought of this outfit started to form in my mind, it was all over. OF COURSE! Why would I NOT pair my leopard print jeans with my leopard head blouse!?!? Aside from feeling like one big kitty (which is way more paw-some than feeling like a regular human, hehe), I’m pretty proud of myself that it actually turned out cute. Oh, and I threw in an elephant for good measure, because, who wants to go to a zoo with only one animal?

Ps. The best thing about having an arm cast (besides Mick doing all of the cooking and dishes) is having an air-tight excuse to have messy bed head every day :)

Fancy Pants

I've been wanting to take a go at the pajama pant trend that I've been seeing lately and set out on a search last weekend for the perfect silky hugh-hefner-and-a-glass-of-red-wine-pants. Being the easily distracted young woman that I am, my plans quickly changed course when I came across these pants at Forever 21. Now came the issue of 'what the heck can I wear with these things?'. Well, I'm not sure I've figured that out yet but I made a valiant effort and I even wore a silk pajama top to make up for the lack of pajama pants in my pajama pants outfit!

Oh, and Mick wore the watch I bought him :)

Over the Weekend

Yes, I know. It's more than halfway through the week and I'm just NOW getting to posting about my weekend! It's been a stressful work week, I've started to become that person that I never wanted to be. The one who is glued to their computer night and day stressed over work. Mick will get home from his day at work and want to tell me all about it. My side of the conversation sounds like this: "yep" "uh huh" "neat" "what?". BUT, tomorrow is Friday and I can't wait for another beautiful weekend.

Here are some pictures from last weekend. When we weren't sailing or eating cinnamon roll waffles, we were parked on a blanket, relaxing and watching dogs, at Fort Mason Green.

Notice my fancy collage? I found an android app that does that for me :)
